Why does my car keep unlocking itself?

My Crown keeps unlocking itself after I lock it! I park, lock the door, walk away (key in pocket), and it beeps five times and unlocks. It’s like it thinks there's a key inside, but there isn't!
Anyone else had this happen? Any tricks to stop it from messing with me?

You can try checking through the window to see if a message appears on the instrument panel, sometimes, the system beeps because of a "Check rear seat" warning, even though the doors stay locked. You could also try resetting the key fob or checking for any interference that might trigger the auto-unlock. If it continues, a visit to the dealer might be needed to rule out any sensor issues.

Hmm, the "Check rear seat" thing is an interesting shout! I’ll keep that in mind for next time. And yeah, resetting the key fob crossed my mind too—could just be a little glitch or something.

Sometimes it’s just the key fob being a little moody or the sensors getting confused by something nearby. You could try locking the car, then strolling around it to see if anything sets it off. If that doesn't do the trick, maybe pop the battery out of the fob for a sec—just in case!
