Ambient lighting issues when headlights are on

I’ve noticed the ambient lighting works fine until the DRL turns on, then it shuts off when the headlights are on. The brightness control dims with the headlights. In my Avalon, this wasn’t an issue, so why can’t I use the ambient lighting here?

Tbh I’m not entirely convinced the interior ambient lights actually turn off. From what I’ve noticed, they kinda fade when you shift into Drive, but they never fully go dark, they’re still faintly glowing.

I’ve noticed the same thing—it's like they never fully turn off. I wonder if it’s a design choice or glitch

Not really using it while driving, just curious why it behaves differently than my Avalon. Was hoping it could stay on dimly.

I thought ambient lighting was supposed to stay on to give the cabin a cool vibe, even with the headlights on. Maybe it’s a safety thing to avoid reflections? Definitely try digging around in the infotainment menu, some models hide the dimmer settings pretty deep.
