I sometimes like to sit in my car while parked, listening to music and just enjoying the Toyota Crown Hybrid. But I’m wondering is there a way to switch from running mode to accessory mode without shutting everything off?

In my past cars, I could just turn the key back to accessory mode, keeping the electronics on but stopping the engine. But with the Crown’s hybrid system flipping between EV and gas, I feel like idling too long isn’t great for the engine.

Has anyone figured out a way to do this without killing the music or restarting the system? Would love to hear if there’s a trick for this!

I haven't tested this myself, but you could try putting the car in EV mode while parked. However, if the hybrid battery gets too low, the system will likely start the engine to recharge it. Also, if you have climate control on, it might trigger the engine to maintain the temperature. You might have better luck keeping it in EV mode by turning off climate settings and ensuring the battery has enough charge.

That's a common thing with hybrids. Unlike older cars the Crown doesn't have a separate accessory mode. The car manages itself switching between electric and gas power. You can try to reduce engine idling by turning off the AC or keeping it low and minimizing other electrical use. Some people say putting it in 'Ready' mode and then using the parking brake helps but the engine might still kick in. just let the car do its thing and enjoy your music.
