My wife and I are considering the Crown AWD as our new daily driver, especially since we get so much snow here. We love the car, but the ground clearance appears to be a little low. Do you think it can still handle snowy roads without getting us stuck everywhere?

Ground clearance helps, but winter tires are the true game changers in snowy conditions. Even a high car with regular tires may struggle. Winter tires make a huge difference in grip and handling.

You are a big-time right; winter tires will do the job. The ground clearance will be an advantage with high water during floods. But it will not help to hold and grip the snowy terrain like that of the winter tires.

The Crown AWD should do fine in snow with the right tires. Ground clearance might not be as high as an SUV, but a good set of winter tires can make a huge difference. If you’re worried about really deep snow, you might want to keep a set of tire chains handy, cheap and effective insurance!

For seasonal use, I'd consider increasing the sidewall height of my winter tires by one size. Maybe even look into lift kits that slightly increase the ride height if they're available.

Unless you get free alignments, constantly adjusting the suspension (changing springs or adjusting coils) for seasonal changes would get expensive fast.

These cars handle great on plowed roads, but ground clearance has always been a limiting factor. Even an R model can get stuck if it has high centers.

With my lowered Passat, I haven't had any trouble in snow up to about 6 inches. I just changed to my winter tires, and then to all-weather tires. The tires are the real game-changers in snowy conditions. But if you're driving through a foot or more of snow, ground clearance becomes a much bigger concern.

Hey! The Crown AWD should handle snowy roads pretty well, even with its lower ground clearanc. Its AWD system will help with traction, and it’s built for stability in tough conditions. Just a thought
