Hey everyone, I’ve had my Toyota Crown for about six weeks now (picked it up a couple of months ago), and I thought I’d share some random thoughts for anyone curious about the experience.
Overall: Honestly, I’m loving it. The Crown delivers a fantastic driving experience, and the quiet cabin really stands out, feels like a retreat on wheels.
Build Quality: It’s not a luxury car like a Rolls Royce, but, I think the quality is excellent. feels solid and well-made.
Documentation: This is where I think there’s room for improvement. As someone who likes to dig into the details, I found the tech side of the manual a bit lacking. Not wrong, just could be better.
Driving Experience: I’ve kept the default configuration settings, and it took a bit to get used to the safety sense features. At first, they felt intrusive, but now I expect and appreciate them. The Max Powertrain is impressive, very responsive, especially for highway passing.
Fuel Economy: I’m averaging 30 mpg in my area (hilly Raleigh terrain), and on two highway trips, I managed around 33 mpg. Pretty decent for a car this size.
Cabin Comfort: This is where the Crown really shines for me. The quiet interior makes it perfect for relaxing drives, especially since my hearing isn’t what it used to be.
Tech & Entertainment: Solid, but not without quirks. I’ve noticed a few dashboard bugs and occasional lags. The digital key is neat, but I only trust it for short trips, don’t want to risk being stranded in some random place. The entertainment system is great for Apple CarPlay, Siri, and Amazon Music.
Style: I’ve gotten a lot of compliments and curious questions. Definitely a win in this department.
Ease of Use: Lane tracing and adaptive cruise controls are a game changer, way better than what I had in my 2021 Highlander. The car almost drives itself until weather conditions worsen.
Regrets: None at all. If I had to decide, I’d go for the Crown.
